**Sébastien Lavigne** (usually just called **Bastien**) is a sixteen year old human boy living in Paris played by **[[player:pinkgothic]]**. Bastien was 'woken' by the Cheshire he calls 'Deneb' (whose Nightshade Thorn designation is [[Lambda]]) for non-temporary purposes - in other words, not for snacking on. In fact, he's being protected from other Cheshires (though it's unlikely he realises this) and is generally communicated as off-limits for actual termination. Essentially, Bastien is something of an unwilling pet to Lambda. Technically, he's free to move and do whatever he wants... as long as Lambda is not around. ===== Background ===== ==== Hobbies ==== Bastien really, //really// likes astronomy. ==== Family ==== Bastien lives with his parents - something that's gotten intensely awkward and creepy ever since he's regained lucidity and they haven't. His mother has a part-time job and is around the house more often than his dad, who not only works fulltime, but has the annoying habit of doing stupid amounts of overtime basically //all// the time. ===== Personality ===== ==== Baseline ==== Bastien has a quiet personality, but thrives on exploration tasks, quick in the uptake and intelligent in making connections between topics that may seem unrelated at first. He has a deep love for physics, especially in how it relates to astronomy, and you could probably get him to talk for a long time on that subject, if not on any others. He's fairly shy and would prefer not to get into any debates about just about anything. ==== Around Cheshires ==== Bastien's reaction to Cheshires is a deep, quivering terror, and in most situations he will try to curl up. It does not take much to tip him into sobbing fits about the situation, even when he's trying his damndest to be brave. His survival tactic is //"keep the monster talking"//, such as offering up names, asking where Cheshires are from, asking if they like Earth, asking if they would not perhaps prefer other hobbies other than torturing humans, such as board games (he would love to teach them board games!), et cetera.
