 Pascal was 'woken' by the Cheshire [[character:Epsilon]] for the purpose of being educated about Cheshires - not that he knows about this, of course. From his perspective, he's just being toyed with in ways that happen to also be insightful about the nature of the grotesque alien infestation of Earth.

 Pascal's job is that of a psychologist. He's of the school of thought that one shouldn't refer people to medication unless circumstances are dire. He juggles two actual jobs - one as a freelance therapist giving online and telephone counselling, one as a member of a private institution specialised on mental health, which straddles a line between being a theoretical research facility (i.e. archive trudging, evidence collection, spreadsheets) and a counselling business, where he has unhappily received more of the former tasks than the latter.
